Jusendo
General Hospital

Jusendo General Hospital is a 305 bed acute care hospital, located close to Koriyama station in Fukushima Prefecture. Founded in 1887, Jusendo is one of the oldest private hospitals that has been providing Western medical treatment in Japan. Jusendo is also designated as a regional secondary emergency hospital and postgraduate education hospital. With nearly 500 medical staff members and highly-advanced medical instruments for diagnosis and treatment, Jusendo makes an effort at providing the compassionate, patient-oriented inpatient and outpatient service. In 2011, Jusendo has been completely renovated and reborn as a complex facility of hospital and condominium (Frontier Tower Koriyama) in the adjacent area of former hospital site. This complex has been developed as a part of the redevelopment plan of the city center in Koriyama. Therefore, the new Jusendo is expected to become a model of city planning in which people can live without anxiety, as well as the enhancement of its medical function.

Basically, the new Jusendo has inherited the roles and functions of the former hospital, but some new features as following have been added. ・The radiation unit that we weren't able to equip in the previous hospital due to the physical restriction has been introduced. This is a radiation device called TomoTherapy. TomoTherapy is a machine that united the conventional radiation treatment device such as Linac system to CT scanner, in simple words. By using the technology used in CT scanning, this device can deliver the intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) from all angles around the patient, so it can result in more effective treatment deliveries with minimized side effects for patients.

・The emergency section has been expanded and strengthened to aim at the emergency health care system for 24 hours.
・By launching three medical centers (Cardiovascular Center, Kidney Disease and Diabetes Center, Gastroenterological Center) in the ward, we can offer integrated treatment that focuses on the patient.

Jusendo
Kaguyama Hospital

Jusendo-Kaguyama Hospital is a sub-acute and chronic care hospital located in a quiet neighborhood, about 3 kilometers south of Jusendo General Hospital. This hospital was originally established as a tuberculosis hospital in 1954, but it has subsequently changed into a special hospital focused on the medical care for chronic diseases and rehabilitation during the recovery phase, so there's no bed for tuberculosis now. Jusendo-Kaguyama Hospital has 250 beds and nearly 200 staff members for the convalescent patient and it also provides outpatient services of internal medicine and orthopedics. There is also Izumi Visiting Nursing Station and Jusendo-Kaguyama Home-care Support Center in the site.

Jusendo Clinic

Jusendo Clinic is a special institution for total medical checkup and hemodialysis treatment. The clinic is located very close to Jusendo General Hospital, and it is facing the Ekimae-dori, the main street of Koriyama.

Jusendo-Shonan Hospital is a 215 bed psychiatric hospital located in Sukagawa city, neighbor south of Koriyama city. This hospital particularly focuses on acute-term psychiatry and the treatment for dementia.

Spring-garden ASAKA is a 100 bed special elderly nursing home located about 6 kilometers south of Jusendo General Hospital. This is an institution of elderly-care-insurance application, and there is also an adult daycare center and a visit-care station in it.
